What people say

★★★★★
My old CNC machine runs on Windows XP and the drive failed, taking the software with it. Digby recovered it and had the machine running again — he's since built me a new PC too.

Rang on a Sunday about a last-minute MacBook Air repair. Fixed quickly and efficiently, and the price was very reasonable for short notice.

On-site computer technician working in Perth

You're dealing with the person who fixes it

I'm Digby. I've been repairing computers around Perth for over twenty years, from the workshop on Whatley Crescent in Maylands and on-site across the inner suburbs.

There's no call centre, no job queue you disappear into, and nobody handing your machine to someone else. You explain the problem to me, and I'm the one who rings you back.

I work on Windows, Mac and Linux, and I'll still take on the old gear other places turn away — including machines running XP or DOS that keep a piece of equipment alive.

Where I come to you

No call-out fee across these suburbs. Typical time from your call to me being at the door.

Also covering Rivervale, Kewdale, Ascot, Como, Guildford, Bedford, Embleton, Menora, Noranda, North Perth, East Perth, Yokine and Welshpool. Outside these? Ring me anyway.

Questions people ask

The things customers ring up about most. If yours isn't here, just ask — I don't charge for a conversation.

Still not sure?
Describe what it's doing and I'll tell you honestly whether it's worth repairing.

Either. Most home jobs I do on-site, so nothing leaves your house, and there's no call-out fee across the inner suburbs. If it needs the bench — screen replacements, board-level work, data recovery — I'll take it back to the Maylands workshop and return it when it's done.
The diagnosis is free, and you get a fixed price before anything starts. Starting prices for the common jobs are listed above, and the estimator will give you a realistic range for your exact problem. If parts are needed, I'll show you the cost before ordering anything.
Most jobs are done the same or next day. A screen replacement is usually two to four hours once the part is here. If I'm waiting on a part I'll tell you up front rather than leaving you wondering.
Then you don't pay. If a machine isn't worth repairing I'll say so plainly and tell you what I'd do instead — that's often the more useful answer, and it's why people come back.
Usually, yes. I build virtual machines so legacy Windows applications keep running on a modern machine. It's the normal answer when a business depends on software the vendor stopped supporting years ago.
Usually. If the drive still spins up, recovery is often straightforward. Physical failures are harder, and I'll assess before quoting because the price depends entirely on what's failed. Stop using the machine — every extra hour powered on reduces what can be saved.
